Pine Twp., PA (January 29, 2026) – Three individuals, including a 1-year-old child, were transported to the hospital following a serious single-vehicle accident on Barkeyville Rd (State Route 208) in Mercer County. The crash occurred at 11:11 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a report recently released by Pennsylvania State Police.
Authorities say a 68-year-old woman from Boyers, PA, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox when she lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and struck a mailbox, a utility pole, and finally a tree. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash.
The driver suffered what police described as a suspected minor injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two passengers, a 30-year-old woman and a 1-year-old child, both from Harrisville, were also transported for injuries. The woman, who was seated in the front passenger seat and not wearing a seatbelt, was reportedly holding the child at the time of the collision. The child was not properly restrained in a car seat, according to troopers.
Both were conscious at the scene, but the woman’s injuries were classified as serious. The child’s condition has not yet been made public.
The crash remains under investigation bythe Pennsylvania State Police.
Our thoughts are with all three victims, especially the child, and we wish them healing and strength in the days ahead.
