Pittsburgh, PA (January 21, 2026) – A 72-year-old man was struck and injured in a hit-and-run incident near the intersection of Penn Ave and South Negley Ave in Pittsburgh on January 20. Emergency responders, including Engine 8, police, and EMS, were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a fleeing vehicle.
Officials stated that the man remained conscious and breathing at the scene but had sustained injuries requiring medical attention. Medics provided on-site treatment before preparing him for transport to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
The driver involved reportedly left the scene prior to emergency crews arriving. Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing as police work to identify and locate the person responsible.
