POOLESVILLE, Montgomery County, Md., Sept. 21, 2026 — A man died after a hit-and-run driver struck him early on Sunday morning, September 20, near Fisher Avenue and Milford Mill Road in Poolesville, according to Montgomery County police.
Officers were called to the scene just before 2 a.m. and found that a vehicle had struck a 27-year-old man in the area of 19630 Fisher Avenue, near a McDonald's. The driver reportedly left the scene without stopping. Medics took the man to a hospital with serious injuries, where he later died, according to the police.
Investigators believe the vehicle headed west on Fisher Avenue toward Elgin Road after the crash. The vehicle and driver had not been identified as of the initial report. Officials have not released the name of the man who died.
