Why Rear-End Collisions Can Be Deadly
Rear-end crashes, especially involving large trucks, can be extremely dangerous due to the significant size and weight differences between vehicles. Smaller cars can experience severe damage and fatal injuries even at moderate speeds.
Factors such as driver distraction, fatigue, or adverse weather conditions often contribute to these crashes. Emergency responders work to quickly secure the scene and provide medical care, but fatalities are more likely when occupants of smaller vehicles are involved.
Investigators use vehicle positions, skid marks, and witness accounts to determine how the collision occurred and what may have contributed to it.
