PROSSER, Benton County, WA, Sept. 17, 2026 — Several people were hurt Wednesday afternoon, September 16, when two vehicles collided at 7th Street and Sheridan Avenue in Prosser, according to authorities.
The crash was reported to emergency dispatchers at about 5:02 p.m., authorities said. The call initially placed the collision at 7th Street and Stacy Avenue, but responders quickly corrected the location to 7th Street and Sheridan Avenue.
Early callers reported that a vehicle door may have been jammed shut, trapping an occupant inside, authorities said. Arriving crews found no one trapped and confirmed all occupants were able to get out of the vehicles on their own.
The collision involved a white SUV with front-end damage and a red sedan with damage to its side, authorities said. Both vehicles briefly blocked the intersection. Authorities on scene said the injuries reported were minor. Police and fire crews stayed at the intersection to check on those involved, direct traffic and clear the roadway.
No further details have been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
