Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Move to a safe spot if possible, check for injuries, and call 911. Exchange information with the other driver, take photos of the scene and vehicle positions, and seek a medical evaluation even if you feel fine, since some injuries, like head trauma, take time to show symptoms.
Where do most traffic accidents happen?
A large share of crashes occur at intersections, where vehicles traveling in different directions cross paths, usually during turns or when one driver misjudges the other's speed or right of way.
What injuries are most common in car accidents?
Head and neck injuries, including concussions from striking the steering wheel or window, are common in collisions, along with whiplash, chest bruising from seatbelts, and broken bones from the force of impact.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Ramona, CA
If you're involved in a collision in Ramona, start by getting yourself and any passengers to safety and calling for emergency help. Even a hit to the head that seems minor, like striking a steering wheel, should be checked by a medical professional, since symptoms of concussion or internal injury can appear hours later. Keep a record of who responded to the scene, including CHP unit numbers and any fire or medical crews, and request a copy of the official collision report once it's available. Giving yourself time to rest and following up with a doctor can make a real difference in recovery.
