Rapid City, SD (January 20, 2026) – A vehicle accident along Interstate 90 near mile marker 67 on January 18 left at least one person injured and prompted a response from emergency personnel just west of Rapid City.
First responders arrived at the westbound side of the interstate to find crash debris and at least one individual requiring medical attention. The number of vehicles involved in the incident has not been confirmed, and authorities have not yet released the identity or condition of the injured party.
Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted as medics evaluated those on scene and law enforcement began their investigation. Crews worked to ensure the scene was cleared safely and that the injured party received appropriate care.
While weather and road conditions at the time have not been cited, officials continue to investigate to determine what may have contributed to the crash. I-90 is a major corridor in the region, and accidents in this stretch can lead to delays for both local and through traffic.
