RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, Portage County, Ohio, Sept. 18, 2026 — A school bus carrying children collided with a pickup truck and then left the road Friday morning, September 18, in Ravenna Township. Minor injuries were reported, and no one was taken to a hospital, according to state troopers.
The crash happened just before 7:45 a.m. on Cleveland Road near Lovers Lane, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Authorities said the bus was headed southeast on Cleveland Road, transporting students to school, when it drifted left of center and struck an oncoming pickup truck.
The bus then went off the northeast side of the road, according to the patrol, hitting a mailbox, a set of concrete steps, and an embankment before coming to a stop. State troopers said both drivers and the children on board sustained only minor injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Commercial Enforcement Section is assisting with the investigation, which remains open. They have not said how many students were on the bus or released further details on how the crash occurred.
