Tewksbury, MA (August 11, 2026) – A resident was flown to a Boston-area hospital on Monday morning, August 10, after a fire broke out at an apartment on Andover Street in Tewksbury.
Firefighters responded to 1775 Andover Street and found smoke coming from the building. A sprinkler had activated and contained the fire to the apartment where it began. EMS and Fire units found the resident inside the apartment and removed him from the building. He was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital before being transferred by Med Flight to another hospital for further treatment.
The fire was quickly brought under control, and emergency units checked surrounding areas while the cause was investigated. Our thoughts are with the injured resident as he receives further medical care.
