Cottage Grove, MN (July 27, 2026) — A motorcyclist died on Sunday morning, July 26, in a wreck at the interchange of Highway 61 and Highway 95 in Cottage Grove, Washington County, investigators said. The motorcycle was headed northwest on Highway 61 toward an exit for northbound Highway 95, while a Honda Passport was headed south on Highway 95, approaching a traffic signal.
During the collision, the motorcyclist was separated from the motorcycle and came into contact with the Honda, according to investigators.
The motorcyclist was identified as 28-year-old Jeremiah Thomas Miller Hurley of Hastings. He was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead. The Honda’s driver, 62-year-old Jess Alan Brown of Woodbury, was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.
The Honda’s airbags deployed, and alcohol was not suspected as a factor for either person, investigators said. The road was dry at the time. The exact cause of the accident remained under review as this report was filed.
