Safety Tips for Motorcyclists in Multi-Vehicle Crashes
Motorcyclists face a greater risk of injury in crashes because they lack the protection provided by a passenger vehicle. Wearing a properly fitted helmet and protective riding gear can help reduce the severity of injuries.
Motorcycle riders should maintain a safe following distance and remain alert to vehicles changing lanes or turning nearby. Defensive riding can provide more time to react when traffic conditions change.
Drivers should also watch carefully for motorcycles and allow them enough space on the road. Checking blind spots before changing lanes and avoiding distractions can help reduce the risk of a serious collision.
