Palm Coast, FL (September 13, 2026) – On Friday, September 11, an adult male motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on southbound Interstate 95 in Flagler County, near mile marker 283.
The injured rider was taken by helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach for treatment. Firefighters brought him to the helicopter on a stretcher after it landed on the southbound lanes. The collision caused significant traffic delays, with southbound traffic temporarily stopped near the State Road 100 overpass.
The highway was later cleared, and traffic resumed. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities will release additional details as they are confirmed.
We hope the injured motorcyclist makes a full and steady recovery.
Why Motorcycle Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Motorcycle riders have less protection than people inside passenger vehicles, leaving them more exposed during a collision. Even when riders wear protective equipment, a motorcycle impact can result in serious injuries to the rider.
Highway traffic can create additional risks for motorcyclists because vehicles travel at higher speeds and conditions can change quickly. Drivers should check carefully for motorcycles when changing lanes or merging, while riders should maintain a safe speed and remain alert to surrounding traffic.
