Frequently Asked Questions
Does weather or road conditions play a role in crashes like this? Wet pavement, debris, or poor visibility can affect how a driver reacts to sudden traffic changes, though investigators have not said whether conditions were a factor here.
What should someone do right after a two-vehicle crash? Move to a safe spot if possible, call 911, exchange information with the other driver, and get checked by a medical provider even if injuries seem minor at first.
Where do most of these crashes tend to happen? A large share of two-vehicle collisions occur at or near intersections and busy corridors, where turning movements and crossing traffic increase the chance of a mistake.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Rockville, MD
After any crash, safety comes first: check on everyone involved and move out of traffic if the vehicles are drivable. Call police so an official report is filed, and take photos of the vehicles, the road, and any visible injuries. Even if you feel fine, a medical evaluation soon afterward can catch injuries like whiplash or internal bruising that aren't obvious right away. Keep records of any treatment, repair estimates, and communication with insurers, since those documents matter if questions come up later about what happened.
