Understanding single-vehicle crashes and median crossovers
Single-vehicle crashes can be particularly dangerous when a vehicle crosses medians or leaves the roadway. Factors such as speed, road conditions, or driver error can contribute to loss of control.
Vehicles leaving the roadway can strike embankments, ditches, or other obstacles, increasing the risk of severe injury or death. These crashes often require emergency response from multiple units and may result in temporary road closures while crews manage the scene and ensure safety.
