Why Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crashes Are Particularly Dangerous
Pedestrian crashes can quickly become life-threatening because pedestrians have no protection compared with vehicle occupants. When a driver leaves the scene, it complicates medical response and makes it harder to determine the circumstances of the collision.
Factors such as vehicle speed, visibility, and the pedestrian’s location all influence the severity of injuries. Investigators often rely on witness statements, surveillance footage, and physical evidence from the roadway to piece together what occurred. Prompt medical attention remains critical in these situations.
