Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Move to a safe location if possible, call 911 to report injuries, and avoid moving anyone who may be seriously hurt until emergency responders arrive. Exchange information with the other driver and, if you're able, document the scene with photos.
Where do most traffic accidents happen?
Many serious crashes occur on two-lane rural roads and highways, where head-on and cross-centerline collisions tend to cause more severe injuries than crashes on multi-lane roads with dividers.
What injuries are most common in car accidents like this one?
Head-on collisions commonly cause injuries such as broken bones, head and neck trauma, and internal injuries. When a vehicle occupant is trapped, extended extrication time can add to the severity of injuries.
