Bicycle Safety in Downtown Traffic Areas
Intersections such as 12th Street and C Street can create risk due to turning movements. When injuries are reported in Sacramento, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and protect those at the scene.
Downtown areas frequently include a mix of vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians sharing the same streets. Traffic signals, turning vehicles, and closely spaced intersections can affect how safely road users move through these corridors.
Visibility and timing play a large role in preventing collisions. Drivers and cyclists must rely on clear signals and awareness of surrounding traffic when entering intersections or crossing busy city streets.
