Frequently Asked Questions
What can drivers do to lower their chances of being in a crash?
Staying focused on the road, keeping a safe following distance, and slowing down in commercial or high-traffic areas like shopping corridors can help drivers react in time to avoid a collision.
What injuries commonly result from car accidents?
Head injuries, neck and back strain, and broken bones are common in car crashes, even at moderate speeds. Some injuries, including concussions, may not show symptoms right away.
What typically causes crashes like this one?
Distracted driving, failure to yield, and misjudged turns are common factors in crashes at intersections and busy commercial areas, though the cause here has not been confirmed.
Does speed make a difference in how serious a crash is?
Yes. Higher speeds give drivers less time to react and increase the force involved in a collision, which often means more serious injuries.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Salisbury, MD
If you're involved in a crash in Salisbury, try to move to a safe spot if possible and call 911 right away. Even if injuries seem minor, it's worth getting checked by a medical professional, since some injuries, like head trauma, aren't immediately obvious. Make sure to exchange information with the other driver, take photos of the scene if you're able, and wait for police to arrive and document the crash. Keep a copy of the police report for your records, and follow up with a doctor if any symptoms develop in the days afterward.
