Frequently Asked Questions
Why is distracted driving considered such a serious risk?
Even a few seconds of looking away from the road, to check a phone or an in-car display, means a driver covers a long distance without seeing hazards ahead, including stopped traffic or pedestrians at an intersection.
How do weather and road conditions factor into crashes like this one?
Wet pavement, glare, fading light, or an unfamiliar intersection can all cut down the time a driver has to react, which is why crashes usually cluster at busy crossroads such as Snow Hill Road and Beaglin Park Drive.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Salisbury, MD
If you're involved in a crash in Salisbury, stay where it's safe and call for help right away. Let paramedics evaluate you even if you feel fine; adrenaline can mask pain from an injury for hours. Take photos of the scene if you're able, get the other driver's contact and insurance information, and ask responding officers how to obtain a copy of the crash report once it's filed. Follow up with your own doctor in the days after, especially if you notice stiffness, headaches, or soreness that wasn't there at the scene.
