Salisbury, MD (January 22, 2026) – Fire crews responded to a structure fire on Wednesday afternoon in the 700 block of Taft Ct in Salisbury, where smoke was reported coming from the door of an apartment building.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:48 p.m., prompting a multi-agency response including units from Salisbury, Fruitland, and Delmar. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke showing and initiated an aggressive interior attack.
Fortunately, all occupants had safely evacuated the building prior to the arrival of fire crews. The fire was quickly knocked down, preventing further spread within the apartment structure.
Emergency medical personnel on scene evaluated one individual for possible smoke-related issues or minor injury. There has been no confirmation regarding the need for hospital transport.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. No additional injuries have been reported.
