San Bernardino, CA (January 7, 2026) – A serious crash involving two semi-trucks caused significant disruptions early Wednesday morning on the eastbound Interstate 10 just east of Waterman Ave, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported shortly before 1:00 a.m. on January 7. CHP logs indicate that one of the semi-trucks overturned, spilling its trailer, reported to be filled with corn, into the eastbound lanes. The cab of the truck came to rest upright, while the trailer landed on its side. The second truck remained on the westbound side within the center divider and was awaiting private assistance.
Emergency medical services were dispatched under a 1141 code, confirming at least one party sustained injuries in the crash. The extent of those injuries has not yet been released.
As of 2:19 a.m., Caltrans confirmed a hard closure was in place for the #1 and #2 lanes eastbound, with a SigAlert issued for a prolonged closure expected to last 6–8 hours.
Crews remained on the scene to manage debris, conduct salvage operations, and investigate the cause of the crash.
