Frequently Asked Questions
Why is distracted driving so dangerous?
Taking your eyes off the road for even a few seconds, whether to check a phone or adjust something in the car, can mean missing a sudden slowdown or lane change ahead, leaving little time to react.
How do weather and road conditions contribute to crashes?
Wet pavement, glare, and heavy traffic can all reduce how much control a driver has and how quickly a vehicle can stop, which raises the chance of a collision even at normal highway speeds.
What to Do After a Car Accident in San Diego, CA
If you're involved in a collision on a freeway in San Diego, try to get your vehicle to the shoulder if it's safe to drive, turn on hazard lights, and stay inside the car if traffic is heavy. Call 911 to report the crash and request medical help if anyone feels pain, even if it seems minor at first. Neck and back injuries in particular can take hours or days to show symptoms, so a prompt medical evaluation matters. Get a copy of the CHP incident report once it's available, and keep records of any treatment you receive in the days that follow.
