San Jose, CA (January 30, 2026) – A woman tragically lost her life Tuesday morning after being hit by a van in a shopping center parking lot near Lido Way and Thackery Ln, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The fatal incident occurred around 11:17 a.m. on January 27. Authorities stated that the driver of a 2024 Ford Transit 150 van was traveling southbound through the lot when he made a left turn to head eastbound and struck a woman who was walking in the area.
Despite immediate efforts by bystanders and emergency responders, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released, pending notification of her family.
The driver involved remained on-site and cooperated fully with police. No signs of impairment were reported, and the investigation is ongoing to determine if other factors contributed to the collision.
