Nashville, TN (August 25, 2026) – A woman riding a city scooter was hurt on Sunday after a driver allegedly struck her in Nashville’s Gulch area. She reported injuries to her right leg, left foot, and one hand.
The collision happened near Old Division St and 8th Ave S. According to an arrest affidavit, the woman told officers that 42-year-old Abulkarim Abdul struck her from behind with a white Toyota Prius.
The affidavit states that Abdul then drove onto the sidewalk and struck the woman again before leaving. Officers later located the Prius at an apartment complex on 8th Ave S and arrested Abdul.
Abdul reportedly told officers he was dropping off food when he hit the woman and said he stopped to check on her before leaving. He faces four charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an injury accident without providing aid, failing to provide information, and failing to comply.
Abdul remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 23. The case remains under review as the legal process continues.
