Burnsville, MN (August 11, 2026) – A secondary crash on northbound Interstate 35W in Burnsville left a driver injured after a Hummer struck a semitrailer near Burnsville Parkway.
The collision occurred around 8:06 p.m. on August 9 in a construction zone where three vehicles from an earlier crash were blocking traffic. A 2003 Hummer H2 merging onto the interstate from Burnsville Parkway collided with a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia. The secondary collision caused injuries to the 20-year-old male driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox involved in the original crash. His name and additional injury information were not immediately released.
The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured. They included 26-year-old Sumayo Dahir Aden, 35-year-old Antonio Aguilar Secundio, 39-year-old Nenad Radovanovic, and 30-year-old Johnny Linares. The roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The incident remains under review. We are thinking of the injured driver as he receives care.
