Why Head-On Semi-Truck Collisions Often Lead to Extended Road Closures
Crashes involving large commercial trucks frequently require lengthy cleanup and investigation efforts. The size and weight of semi-trucks can cause extensive vehicle damage, roadway debris, and traffic disruptions, even when injuries are limited.
When a truck crosses a median into opposing traffic, investigators often focus on vehicle movement, roadway conditions, and possible mechanical issues. Understanding how the vehicle entered the opposite side of the highway is key to determining what happened.
Road closures may remain in place while damaged trucks are removed, debris is cleared, and evidence is documented. These steps help ensure the roadway is safe before normal traffic operations resume.
