Antioch, SC (August 24, 2026) – Two people suffered injuries after an 18-wheeler struck another vehicle near the Interstate 85 South entrance on Sunday, August 23. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and catch fire near a nearby QuikTrip gas station.
According to the Antioch Fire Department, the 18-wheeler T-boned the other vehicle. Two people were taken to a hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Several fire and emergency crews responded to the scene. Officials also found lithium batteries and generators inside the semi-truck’s trailer.
Crews worked to dismantle the truck as part of the response. The incident remains under review as additional details become available. We are thinking of those affected and wish them well in recovery.
