Peru, IN (August 5, 2026) – A serious crash with confirmed entrapment involving passenger vehicles closed all lanes of U.S. 24 at Logansport Road, about two miles west of Peru, on Wednesday morning, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation alert citing the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. The crash was reported around 6:20 a.m., and an air ambulance was called.
Eastbound lanes reopened by 6:50 a.m., while westbound lanes stayed closed before all lanes reopened around 8:55 a.m. The circumstances remain under investigation.
