East Hartford, CT (July 21, 2026) – Several people were injured, including one person who suffered serious injuries, in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Monday night on Maple Street near Clayton Road in East Hartford. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before 9:45 p.m. on July 20.
Initial reports indicated two vehicles collided before one of them struck a utility pole and rolled over multiple times. Three occupants were able to exit the overturned vehicle before first responders arrived. Two of those occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported for medical evaluation.
One occupant’s condition worsened at the scene, and advanced life support personnel intubated the patient before transporting them to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was also treated for chest injuries and transported by ambulance for further evaluation.
The collision also snapped a utility pole, prompting the closure of Maple Street between Handel Road and Clayton Road while emergency crews worked to assist the injured, repair the damaged utility infrastructure, and investigate the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation as authorities continue gathering information.
