What Information Is Reviewed After a Multi-Vehicle Interstate Crash?
Crashes involving several vehicles on an interstate require investigators to examine a wide range of details to understand how the chain of events developed. They may review vehicle positions, roadway markings, traffic conditions, weather, and any available camera footage. Statements from drivers and witnesses can also help establish the sequence of impacts.
Interstate crashes can lead to long traffic delays while damaged vehicles are removed and the roadway is inspected for hazards. Information about lane closures, debris, and road conditions helps explain why congestion develops and provides additional context as the incident is documented.
