Shreveport, LA (January 18, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred late on Saturday night on eastbound I-20 near Jewella Ave, prompting a major emergency response. The incident was reported around 11:29 p.m. on January 17, just before the Hearn Ave exit.
Fire crews, medics, and rescue units responded to the scene after reports of a vehicle smoking and another possibly fleeing the area after causing the crash. Engine 14, Medic 14, Rescue 9, Truck 8, and Battalion 2 were among the units dispatched to assist at the scene.
Responders located at least one vehicle with visible damage and confirmed injuries at the site. Medical crews began treatment for the injured, though the total number of individuals hurt and the severity of those injuries have not yet been publicly released.
Authorities are investigating the possibility that one of the vehicles involved continued driving after the crash. The collision temporarily disrupted traffic in the eastbound lanes of I-20 as emergency personnel worked to secure the area and aid victims.
