Grand Rapids, MI (June 27, 2026) – The police reported that a person was seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 96 in Kent County late Thursday night, June 25.
Rescue crews responded to eastbound Interstate 96 near Segwun Avenue at 11:35 p.m. following reports of a vehicle leaving the roadway. According to Michigan State Police, a Nissan Altima drove off the road and struck a tree.
The passenger, a 36-year-old Grand Rapids man, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The driver, a 42-year-old Grand Rapids woman, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and complaints of pain.
