Sioux Falls, SD (April 22, 2026) – A two-vehicle rollover crash late Sunday night, April 19, left one driver injured northeast of Harrisburg.
The crash occurred just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of 271st St and Southeastern Ave. Emergency units responded and found a Honda CR-V overturned, requiring crews to remove the driver from the vehicle.
The injured driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The other driver involved was not hurt but was cited for a stop sign violation following the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.
How Stop Sign Violations Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Intersections controlled by stop signs rely on drivers to come to a full stop and check for oncoming traffic. Failing to stop can lead to collisions, especially when another vehicle is already moving through the intersection.
When a crash occurs at these points, the angle of impact can cause a vehicle to spin or roll over. This is more likely if one vehicle strikes the side of another or if speed is involved.
Clear visibility and attention are key factors in avoiding these incidents. Drivers must look both ways and ensure the path is clear before entering the intersection to reduce the risk of a crash.
