What Factors Are Frequently Examined After a Crash Involving a Parked Trailer?
Crashes involving parked trailers can lead investigators to review several roadway and visibility conditions. Officials usually examine lighting in the area, the position of the parked trailer, and whether reflective markings or hazard lights were visible before the collision occurred.
Nighttime crashes may also involve limited reaction time for drivers, especially on roads with reduced street lighting. Investigators sometimes review speed, roadway alignment, and weather conditions to better understand how the crash unfolded.
Vehicle damage patterns and rollover evidence can also provide useful details during the review. In collisions involving trailers, the height and placement of the trailer may affect the severity of impact and the way a vehicle reacts after striking it.
