Spokane, WA (January 20, 2026) – Emergency crews were dispatched Sunday morning to a reported injury accident involving a vehicle fire at the intersection of East 5th Avenue and South Altamont Street in Spokane. The incident occurred at approximately 9:27 a.m. on January 18.
According to dispatch audio, the crash resulted in at least one vehicle catching fire, and airbags were reported to have deployed. Fire assistance was requested as part of the response, and early reports suggest multiple cars may have been involved.
First responders arrived quickly to address the fire and assist any injured occupants. The exact number of individuals involved and the severity of injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Authorities remained on scene for an extended period to manage the fire, assess the crash site, and ensure the area was safe for travel. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
