Springfield, VA (January 13, 2026) – Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend at the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway and Huntsman Blvd in Springfield. Fairfax County Police confirmed that 48-year-old Jane Clayton of Alexandria was killed in the collision early Saturday morning.
The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. when a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Clayton, lost control while heading northbound on Fairfax County Pkwy and veered into the southbound lanes. A 2023 Ford F-150 traveling southbound struck the Cavalier head-on. Moments later, a 2025 Honda HR-V, also heading southbound, collided with the rear of the F-150 after being unable to stop in time.
Jane Clayton was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Ford and the Honda were not injured, according to officials.
Fairfax County Police stated that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, though speed is being considered as part of the ongoing investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jane Clayton during this incredibly difficult time.
