St. Joseph, MO (April 29, 2026) – A 24-year-old Kansas City woman suffered serious injuries after her SUV struck a semi-truck on Interstate 29 late Tuesday, April 28, in Buchanan County.
The crash happened shortly after 10:15 p.m. within the city limits of St. Joseph. The woman was driving northbound when her SUV rear-ended a semi-truck that had slowed for stopped traffic ahead.
She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Emergency units took her to a local hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The semi-truck driver, an 80-year-old man from Cheyenne, Wyoming, was not hurt. Authorities did not release the names of those involved.
