How Left-Turn Collisions with Motorcycles Are Evaluated
Crashes involving left-turning vehicles and motorcycles often occur when a driver misjudges an approaching rider’s speed or distance. Motorcycles can be harder to see due to their smaller size.
Intersections are common locations for these incidents, especially when one vehicle is turning across oncoming traffic. Even a brief timing error can place both vehicles on a collision path.
Investigators typically review the angle of impact, vehicle positions, and movement before the crash. These details help determine how the motorcycle’s turn and approach contributed to the collision.
