Large-truck crashes commonly stem from factors like limited visibility, long stopping distances, blind spots, and the actions of other drivers who misjudge a truck's speed or space needs.
How can drivers share the road safely with trucks and work vehicles?
Giving trucks extra following distance, avoiding lingering in blind spots, and being cautious around construction vehicles merging or stopping on freeways can reduce the chance of a collision.
Does driver fatigue play a role in truck-related crashes?
Fatigue is a recognized factor in crashes involving commercial vehicles, particularly during early morning or overnight hours when alertness tends to drop.
What should I do after a crash involving a commercial truck?
Move to a safe location if possible, contact emergency services, document the scene, and wait for law enforcement to complete their report before discussing fault.
