Ottawa, KS (June 23, 2026) – One person was injured on Sunday afternoon, June 21, after a rear-end accident on Interstate 35 in Franklin County. The wreck happened at 2:21 p.m. near Tennessee Road, about four miles northeast of Ottawa.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2025 Volvo semitrailer and a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara were both traveling north on Interstate 35. The semi then struck the rear of the Suzuki.
The Suzuki driver was identified as 41-year-old Paul Anglade of Olathe. He was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with injuries.
The semi driver, 64-year-old Melido E. Diaz Sanchez of Summerfield, Florida, was not hurt. He was also wearing a seatbelt, and both drivers were alone in their vehicles.
