Sweden, NY (January 21, 2026) – Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident on Tuesday on the 5500 block of Brockport Spencerport Rd, near the Byrne Dairy in the Town of Sweden, where individuals were reportedly trapped inside the wreckage.
The crash occurred during the day and involved at least one vehicle with severe damage, prompting a coordinated response from fire and medical personnel. Upon arrival, first responders worked quickly to extricate those trapped inside the vehicle, using specialized rescue tools to safely remove the occupants.
Paramedics immediately assessed and treated the injured individuals once they were freed. At least one person sustained injuries requiring medical attention, and transport to a local hospital was arranged. The extent of those injuries has not been disclosed.
Traffic on Brockport Spencerport Rd was temporarily halted as the rescue unfolded and crews worked to clear the scene. Authorities remained on site to begin their investigation into the cause of the crash, which remains ongoing.
