Talladega Co, AL (February 2, 2026) – An accident involving a residential structure fire resulted in injuries this weekend in Talladega County. The incident occurred Saturday afternoon, January 31, along Heasletts Rd, where fire crews were called to the scene at approximately 5 p.m.
Reports from Lay Lake Fire indicate that firefighters arrived to find a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in flames. Crews immediately began fire suppression efforts, working quickly to control the blaze and reduce further damage. The fire was successfully extinguished and declared out by around 5:30 p.m.
During the response, Childersburg Fire and Rescue also arrived on scene and assisted with emergency operations. Paramedics provided care to one individual affected by the fire, who was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of a variety of injuries. No additional details regarding the person’s condition have been released.
Officials confirmed that the trailer and all of its contents were a total loss. Fire authorities also reported that a dog inside the residence was unable to escape prior to the arrival of the fire department.
