TAMPA, Hillsborough County, Fla., Sept. 27, 2026 — A man was critically injured Saturday morning, September 26, after a driver struck him in a crosswalk at West Arch Street and North Boulevard in Tampa, according to police.
Officers responding shortly after 7 a.m. found the man badly hurt at the intersection. He was taken to a nearby hospital and remained in critical condition, according to the report.
Police said a woman driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla was turning left from eastbound West Arch Street onto northbound North Boulevard when her vehicle struck the man as he crossed the northbound lanes. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the report. She was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Investigators said speed and impairment do not appear to have played a role in the crash. The case remains under review, and anyone with information has been asked to contact Tampa police.
