Santa Clarita, CA (August 16, 2026) – A sedan and a tanker truck carrying fuel were involved in an injury crash early on Friday morning, August 14, on northbound SR-14 near Escondido Canyon Road. Authorities received the initial report shortly after 3:19 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the sedan was a blue Infiniti Q50 that became lodged beneath or against the tanker; both drivers were reported to be on the roadside following the crash. The tanker’s rear axle was broken, and an oil spill covered much of the roadway except the No. 1 lane.
Crews were requested to apply absorbent material and clean the roadway, while a heavy-duty tow truck was called to remove the tanker. The crash resulted in closures of the No. 2, 3, and 4 northbound lanes for an estimated three hours.
