Gooding, ID (June 5, 2026) – An 18-year-old Shoshone man was critically injured on Wednesday evening, June 3, after a two-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck in Gooding County. The accident happened around 6:38 p.m. near milepost 153 on U.S. 26, just east of Gooding.
Idaho State Police said the crash involved a 2019 Freightliner and a 2013 Ford Explorer. Both vehicles were traveling east on U.S. 26 before the collision.
The Explorer driver was flown to a nearby hospital. The police said he remained in critical condition after the wreck. The Freightliner was driven by a 51-year-old Shoshone man. No injuries were reported for the semi-truck driver in the initial report.
The eastbound lane of U.S. 26 was blocked for about two hours while crews worked along the road. The collision remains under review as investigators continue confirming details.
