Why Rollover Crashes Can Still Cause Multiple Injuries Even Without Fatalities
Rollover crashes can affect multiple occupants because the vehicle’s movement becomes unpredictable once it loses stability. When a vehicle tips or overturns, passengers may be subjected to sudden shifts in forces and impacts inside the cabin.
Even when injuries are classified as non-life-threatening, several people can still be affected due to seat position, restraint use, and how the vehicle lands after rolling. In some cases, trapped occupants require extrication before medical evaluation.
Investigators typically review vehicle speed, road curvature, and possible contributing factors such as abrupt steering or collisions with other vehicles. These elements help establish how the rollover developed and whether any external forces contributed to the crash.
