Peoria, IL (July 28, 2026) – Three people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck flipped a car onto its roof near West Garden Street and South Western Avenue in South Peoria on Monday morning, July 27, according to the Peoria Fire Department. Police were first called around 10:28 a.m.
Crews freed a woman trapped inside the overturned vehicle, while a man in the same car got out on his own before crews arrived. Two people in the other vehicle also exited on their own. One driver suffered a broken arm; the rest had non-life-threatening injuries.
Fire crews stayed to help clear debris until the vehicles were removed from the roadway. The intersection reopened around 11:36 a.m. The cause remains under investigation.
