Harrisburg, PA (May 20, 2026) – Three workers were injured on Tuesday afternoon after an exterior wall collapsed at a duplex in Harrisburg, trapping multiple people at the worksite.
Emergency units responded to the 1900 block of Zarker Street after reports indicated a structural failure during ongoing work outside the building. Harrisburg Bureau of Fire Chief Brian Enterline said five people were working at the duplex when the wall gave way, trapping three of them beneath debris.
All three trapped workers were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment. No additional injuries were reported among the remaining workers. Officials confirmed the building sustained significant damage and is expected to be torn down following the collapse.
Authorities also noted that all work being performed at the site was properly permitted. The cause of the wall failure has not yet been determined, and the situation remains under review. We hope those injured make a full recovery.
