Monroe, NY (July 1, 2026) – Three people were injured early on Monday morning, June 29, after a head-on crash at Route 208 and Rockland Road in Monroe.
The New York State Police said the collision happened around 12:40 a.m. A Nissan was traveling south on Route 208 with two people inside when it entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Genesis.
The Nissan driver, a 54-year-old Monsey resident, and his passenger were both brought to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries. Their names were not included in the initial report.
The Genesis driver, a 24-year-old Spring Valley man, was also brought to a hospital with minor injuries. No tickets had been issued at the time of the report.
The intersection was closed for several hours while the police reviewed the roadway. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
