Tillamook, OR (January 12, 2026) – A devastating apartment fire in Tillamook on Sunday claimed one life and left a dozen residents without homes, according to city officials. The fire broke out just after noon on January 11 at the Trask River Apartments, prompting a rapid response from police and fire crews.
As firefighters worked to contain the blaze, one individual was found deceased inside the building. Their identity has not yet been released pending family notification. In total, 12 residents were displaced due to fire damage and safety concerns.
The Red Cross is currently providing emergency shelter and support services to those affected, ensuring displaced residents have access to housing, food, and essential supplies in the aftermath of the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire was accidental, though an investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have asked anyone with information regarding the fire to contact the Tillamook City Police Department.
